Vaccine efficacy against incident infection with HPV-16 and HPV-18

In the according-to-protocol analyses, the rate of vaccine efficacy against incident infection with HPV-16 and HPV-18 was 91.6% (95% confidence interval [CI], 64.5 to 98.0) and the rate of efficacy against persistent infection was 100% (95% CI, 47.0 to 100). In the intent-to-treat analyses, the rate of vaccine efficacy against persistent cervical infection with HPV-16 and HPV-18 was 95.1% (95% CI, 63.5 to 99.3) and the rate of efficacy against cytologic abnormalities associated with HPV-16 and HPV-18 infection was 92.9% (95% CI, 70.0 to 98.3). The vaccine was generally safe, well tolerated, and highly immunogenic.

1. Niflolidine
Nicotine alpha(4)beta(2) receptor subtypes are implicated in the study of Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia, substance abuse, lung cancer, and other disorders. We report the development and evaluation of a putative antagonist, 5-(3'-fluoropropyl)-3-(2-(S)-pyrrolidinylmethoxy)pyridine (nifrolidine) as a PET agent for nicotine alpha(4)beta(2) receptors.

2. Whole body MRI
The presented data point toward an increased use of MRI for screening in the future, but to date screening MRI should not be performed outside a research setting because the cost-benefit relation is unclear.

4. Safety Issue of MRI For Patient with implantable heart device
SAR was limited to 2.0 W/kg for all sequences. Device parameters were assessed immediately post MRI and at chronic follow-up (median 24 days after MRI).
The investigators' new guideline warn that only the newer devices, mainly from the
last seven years, are safe in the scanners and call for low-energy-level scans, avoiding scan settings higher than 2.0W/Kg.
